2018 ACAP Awards Nominations

The Association of Croatian American Professionals (ACAP) is proud to host its official Awards Ceremony during the 2018 Annual Gala Dinner in Silicon Valley, CA on Friday, October 19th, 2018.

The ACAP Awards will recognize individuals who have excelled in their professions and made significant contributions to the Croatian-American community. They have demonstrated leadership and service, which has positively impacted and inspired our community.

The ACAP Award for Professional Excellence recognizes an ACAP member who has excelled in their profession and made an outstanding contribution to the Croatian-American community. 

​

​

The ACAP Rising Star Award recognizes an ACAP member under 40 who has excelled in their profession and made an outstanding contribution to the Croatian-American community. 

​

​

The ACAP Award for Member Achievement recognizes an ACAP member who has made a significant contribution to the Association of Croatian-American Professionals.

​

​

The ACAP Honorary Award was created to recognize a person of Croatian descent who during their lifetime has made significant and sustained contributions to the Croatian-American community. 

​

​

The ACAP “Friend of Croatia” Award recognizes a non-Croatian who has made significant contributions to the Croatian-American community.

ACAP Awards Committee 2018 Members

​

Igor Boras is a Senior Construction Engineer with the US Navy in Washington, DC. He studied civil engineering at both the University of Sarajevo and Catholic University. Igor was a moderator at both the 2016 and 2017 ACAP Conferences. He is the President and a founding member of the Washington DC ACAP Chapter. 

 

Marko Buljan is a commercial real estate broker with Sequoia Capital in San Jose, CA. A bioengineering major, he is a graduate of Santa Clara University. Marko is on the Executive Board of the Croatian Scholarship Foundation, President of ACAP Silicon Valley, and Chair of this year's ACAP Conference. He was the recipient of the Rising Star Award at ACAP 2017 Conference.  

  

Marko Cirjak is an attorney currently employed by the Defense Finance and Accounting Service in Cleveland. He obtained his J.D. at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He is Secretary and a founding member of the Cleveland ACAP Chapter and chairs the ACAP Chapter Coordination Committee.

Maria Dugandzic-Pasic is VP of Corporate Communications for PNC Bank in Chicago. She is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago. Maria authored "Croatians of Chicagoland," which documented the historic timeline of Croatian immigration and expansion in Chicago. She chaired the Marketing and PR Committees, moderated a panel, and emceed the Gala Dinner of the 2017 ACAP Conference .

 

Luka Misetic is an international lawyer and partner at Squire Patton Boggs in NYC. He was the lead counsel defending Croatian General Ante Gotovina in the Hague. He obtained his J.D. from University of Notre Dame Law School. Luka was the recipient of the Professional Excellence Award at ACAP 2017 Conference. 

 

Maria Sentic is a CPA and founder of AccountingLeap LLC, providing outsourced accounting, business process automation, and strategic consulting to businesses. She is a graduate of Northwestern University. Maria is ACAP Treasurer, a founder of the ACAP Chicago Chapter, and chair of the 2017 ACAP Conference.

Dorothy Vinsky is an attorney in corporate & securities, M&A, and international law at Royse Law in Santa Monica, CA. She obtained her J.D. at Loyola Law School. Dorothy is Co-President and a founding member of the ACAP LA Chapter and Co-Chair of the ACAP Chapter Coordination Committee.


Iva Vukina is Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs in NYC. She graduated from Cornell with a Master's in Engineering degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering. She is President and a founding member of the ACAP Chapter in NYC.
